Are you a chemical/process engineer with a desire to bridge over to sales and business development? International Process Plants is seeking applicants for its Sales Application Engineering team who want to to utilize their chemical/process engineering skills to facilitate sales of process equipment and process systems.

POSITION PURPOSE:

A Sales Application Engineer is expected to utilize their basic knowledge of process engineering and process equipment to provide solutions to customers using the company’s second-hand process equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing existing and new relationships with multinational chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical companies seeking to expand their business or replace equipment using cost-effective second hand equipment. The goal is to offer a higher level of service to customers using your high-level technical skills to cultivate ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and promote our company brand.

We have an immediate opening for someone in our equipment sales group. Your job would be to operate as part of our sales team and expand our equipment sales department utilizing your engineering skills as a background tool.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

· Find and present solutions to close deals within IPP’s process equipment and process system vertical.

· Utilize their engineering skills to offer thoughtful solutions to customers and prospects.

· Identify, meet & develop relationships with target companies and existing customers.

· Stay on mission.

· Develop personalized business plans that maximize customer contact and ensure repeat sales.

· Meet or exceed agreed upon sales goals and business development objectives.

· Design and implement a vigorous prospecting plan to find, develop and execute all found opportunities.

· Introduce IPP equipment portfolio to new and existing customers within assigned accounts and geography to assure a customer’s future asset needs (and surplus sales) are known about to IPP well in advance of the requirement.

· Maintain detailed account profiles through the company’s CRM and prepare sales reports as required.

· Enhance ones professional delivery by continuously increasing product and industry knowledge and interpersonal skills.

· Collaborate and participate in informational sharing with various IPP team members and departments.

· Attend and participate at company supported events and industry trade shows.

· Build and maintain ongoing awareness of services, competitor activities and market data.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Knowledge & Competencies:

· Desire to provide a high level of customer service, communication.

· Ability to evaluate a process flow diagram and offer high level feedback for internal or external consumption. Note- the candidates are not expected to be process experts in any one area

· Understanding of the principle industrial processes (including reaction, distillation, drying, filtration)

· Outstanding sales leadership and customer relationship building skills.

· Strong cognitive skills, problem analysis, decision making and quantitative analysis.

· Ability to assess customer patterns and future needs.

· Ability to learn and assimilate procedures, techniques, equipment, operations, standards to improve value to customers.

 

Preferred Experience:

· Proven success in quoting and closing capital equipment sales or similar industry experience.

 

Previous Experience/Education:

· Proficiency with MS Office, Project, Visio and CRM tools. Internet based tools and search.

· 4 year college degree in engineering and or business, advanced schooling or equivalent is preferable.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

· Highly organized.

  • Alternate languages are a plus (Spanish, German, Italian, Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Russian, Mandarin).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Heavy phone / email usage, may be required to make calls to customers within the customers time zone, a company VoIP phone / cell phone will be provided to facilitate those tasks.

· Able to approach/speak to high level decision-making personnel.
